Cost effective and eco friendly?
The terms ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Eco- friendly’ aren't usually associated with saving money: but should they be? Are £1 spray cleaners and cheap disposable face wipes or razors really that cost effective? What about products that actually last and do a better job? You don't need to have a lot of spare cash to keep the planet in mind, and be kinder to yourself with toxin and cruelty free products!
People in lower income countries have a lower carbon footprint than people in the UK or the USA, in part, because they buy less, or use longer lasting sustainable products. It’s more common to make things themselves more, essentially practicing minimalism.
Long term investment in products, rather than repeatedly buying disposable items, is often much more cost effective. Harris&Rose offer many sustainable, one time purchases for yourself and your home. The firm favourites are reusable bottles for our cleaning sachets and the “eco egg” for washing your clothes. Wooden and metal products such as our dustpan and brushes and eco toilet brushes also last longer than plastic, that can easily break.
Using energy is going to be a huge issue for families over the coming months and finding good ways to save is so important for you and for the environment. Whilst air drying your clean clothes requires the least amount of energy (if we have the weather for it!) Harris&Rose’s dryer eggs can be a good option. Dryer eggs increase airflow in your drier, decreasing the time it takes to dry your clothes (and thus the energy consumed) by up to 28%.
Other sustainable and money saving products on our website are personal items like reusable, washable bamboo face pads and plastic free safety razors - which last forever! Natural, eco-friendly beauty products such as deodorants, body lotions and lip balms, to mention a few, last a long time and are great for your body without harsh chemicals and palm oil. They are always vegan, plastic and cruelty free at Harris&Rose!
Eco Love,
